LaurieGrace Roberts, Founder, Counselor & Coach
LaurieGrace Roberts, the Founder of Dallas Women’s Counseling, is passionate about helping women thrive in life and in their unique world of work. With a relational style, a results-oriented focus, and a research-informed process, she takes a practical approach to meeting clients where they are today and collaborating with them to plan a path forward to where they want to be.
She realizes how common it is to get stuck in life and work. As this happens, women often feel anxious, depressed, exasperated, and burned out. This reality led to her professional mission, and the focus of Dallas Women’s Counseling: to help women navigate life and work pain points so they are successfully moving forward and achieving their goals and aspirations.
LaurieGrace completed undergraduate business studies at Baylor University, coaching certification at NeuroLeadership Institute, and graduate-level counseling coursework at Southern Methodist University, including extensive clinical work with counseling clients.
In addition to her counseling experience, LaurieGrace — a “recovering CPA” — has over 15 years of experience as an executive coach and leadership development consultant. She is not your typical counselor. She is best described as one-part counselor, one-part coach, and one-part businesswoman. This unique experience helps her therapy clients achieve the growth, goals, and outcomes they most desire.
LaurieGrace completed specialized training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Brain-based Coaching, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (“MBSR”), Mindful Embodied Expressive Therapies, and Group Counseling. She is also a Gallup-certified Strengths Coach, a Predictive Index Certified Partner, and a YouScience Independent Consultant. Her education and experience shape the unique perspective LaurieGrace is known for which results in a thoughtful approach to how she supports each client. A clients’ progress and growth are what matter most.
Her areas of focus include life and career-related transitions, boundaries, personal and professional development, self-esteem, and stress management. She also supports clients in life and career planning and folds in a client’s spirituality when meaningful.
LaurieGrace successfully passed the National Counselor’s Exam which requires extensive completion of graduate-level counseling coursework and clinical hours with clients in a therapeutic setting. At this time, she has chosen not to be licensed in the state of Texas due to its various client-related limitations and constraints that conflicted with how and where LaurieGrace desires to serve clients. Her work focuses primarily on stress management, life and career goal-setting, and life and work transitions. She does not diagnose, assess, or treat mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders.
Personally, LaurieGrace enjoys spending time with family and friends, gardening, yoga, reading, working through Christian Bible studies, and walking her golden retriever, Lily. Her most recent community involvement has been with the Junior League of Dallas and with Readers 2 Leaders, a West Dallas nonprofit agency that focuses on equipping students to succeed through the power of reading.
